Prof. Annette Kezaabu is the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Karamoja Peace and Technology University, where she leverages over 20 years of academic leadership experience. With a PhD and a Master’s Degree in Health Promotion Psychology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, and a Bachelor’s in Mass Communication from Makerere University, Prof. Kezaabu is dedicated to advancing higher education in Uganda.
Her career began at Makerere University as Acting Head of the Department of Mass Communication, subsequently holding significant roles, including Principal of Higher Degrees and Research at Kampala International University (KIU) and then Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs. In her tenure, she has championed initiatives that increased student applications by 10% and introduced efficient systems to enhance academic integrity and operational efficacy.
Prof. Kezaabu is recognized for her collaborative leadership style, providing vision and strategic direction while fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability. She has successfully navigated accreditation processes, led Senate committees, and contributed to community initiatives, including serving as Chairperson of the Pornography Control Committee.
Her commitment extends beyond academia; she actively engages in community projects to promote economic empowerment and social cohesion. Passionate about integrating ICT in academic administration, she has implemented systems to improve efficiency in academic processes at KIU.
